Bananas during the first months of BLW

This post is bananas B-A-N-A-N-A-S 😉

Bananas can be a bit slippery to hold so leaving the skin on helps the youngest BLW babies to get a good grip. It’s fun to take the skin off as they get older and watch the concentration as they learn to hold the banana with the just right amount of force. Once Little Chickpea had developed fairly proficient self-feeding skills she started to eat her bananas very very quickly (so sweet and yummy!) so I now chop them up into little slices to encourage a bit more time and care to be taken whilst providing an excellent opportunity for practicing that pincer movement.

Hurrah for bananas!

Happy Weaning
